History

Sound Structures, Inc. of Heathsville, VA was started in 1981 by Rex and Steve Jones. Apartment builders were in dire need of an alternative to light weight concrete for sound control. Gyp-Crete looked like a good solution then and has proven to be a great solution today with over 3.5 billion square feet of installations nationwide.

Steve manages the sales and contract side of the business and Rex handles crew supervision and job scheduling.

The experience of Sound Structures goes far beyond Steve and Rex. The first two employees that were hired in 1981 to do the installations are still on site running the crews today. The second tier workers have over twelve years of experience each. This means that not only can the sales staff find the right solution for use in the project; the site workers will know how to deal with anything that can come up on a job.

If there is one thing you can count on is that every Sound Structures installation team gets to the job as scheduled and gets the job done without any drama.

The next generation is stepping up to make their contributions with Gregory Jones, Rex's son, making his contribution on the installation side of the business and Eric Jones, Steve's son, making his contribution on the sales and contract side of the business.

With over 150 million square feet of installations, the Sound Structures Team has more experience than anyone else in the region and can be counted on to provide you with the best in service and quality.
